5G Factory of the Future is a cutting-edge project developing integrated solutions through an industrial testbed to address key challenges in deploying 5G technologies in industry, demystifying the technology, and helping the UK to realise the benefits of fifth-generation wireless connectivity in manufacturing.
The open-access 5G industrial testbed is being delivered by a consortium of industrial and academic leaders from the manufacturing and telecommunications sectors. It was awarded £9.5m by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), which includes match funding from industry. It is part of the government’s £200m investment in 5G testbed facilities across the country.
